March 24, 2015 - PowerFilm Solar, in conjunction with Canadian production company Productions MAJ, Inc., has wrapped up filming of a segment of the popular Discovery Channel series “How It’s Made”. The segment will air on the Science Channel in the U.S. on April 2nd at 8pm Central Time.
PowerFilm’s foldable solar panels have been used around the world to provide remote power to military and outdoor enthusiasts. PowerFilm, based in Ames, Iowa, will show its unique foldable solar panel manufacturing process from beginning to end in a segment that was recently filmed by the Canadian production company Productions MAJ, Inc. The segment will provide a comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at the thin-film solar manufacturing process as well as the assembly of foldable solar panels created with this material.
Along with PowerFilm’s foldable solar panel manufacturing process, the episode will feature the manufacturing of Grammy Awards, bicycle lights, and above-ground pools.
The Discovery Channel’s “How It’s Made” is a documentary television program that presents behind the scenes perspective from factories around the world for a wide range of products. The series is aired in the US and Canada.
